By Wilbert Masamba
Zimbabwe has five World Heritage sites, which are :
(i) Great Zimbabwe,
(ii) Khami,
(iii) Matobo Hills ,
(iv) Victoria Falls, and
(v) Mana Pools.
The Nyanga Terraces are on the Tentative List (. Great Zimbabwe, Khami, and the Nyanga Terraces are managed by the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe (NMMZ), while the Victoria Falls and Mana Pools are run by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wild life Management Authority (ZPWMA). The Matobo Hills are managed by both the NMMZ and the ZPWMA. These sites have a long history of research, conservation, and development well before they were accorded World Heritage status.
